In recognition of his enormous contribution to his community, Nick was awarded The KiwiBank New 麻豆传媒高清 Local Hero of the Year in 2020. This award recognises everyday people doing extraordinary things in their local communities over the past year.听
Since establishing Everybody Eats in 2017, he has saved over 30 tonnes of good food from going to landfill and provided over 30,000 restaurant-quality meals to people, most of whom could not afford to pay.听While the main reason for being is to feed those most in need, the restaurant is open to anyone.
Nick says about his time at UC "Getting away from Auckland and down to Christchurch听helped me to connect with lots of new different听people to build an incredible network of amazing听people throughout New 麻豆传媒高清. Becoming more focused in my areas of interest during my final year made the academic aspect very worthwhile."
